“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me…
My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.”

~ Psalm 51:10, 17 NIV ~

What is Celebrate Recovery?

Celebrate Recovery is a place to fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the 12 steps and 8 recovery principles. This experience allows us to be changed. We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another. In addition, we become willing to accept God’s grace in solving our life’s problems. By working and applying these biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors.

A safe place for those with hurts, hang-ups, or habits!

Anger, chemical dependence, co-dependency, financial recovery, eating disorders, gambling addiction, media addiction, relationships addiction, same sex attraction, sexual addiction, physical and/or emotional abuse.

This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with others. As we progress through the program we discover our personal, loving, and forgiving Higher Power - Jesus Christ.

We are:

  • an anonymous, confidential, safe place.

  • a tried and true plan of recovery for whatever struggle you are facing.

  • an opportunity to share what Jesus Christ has done in your life.

  • a place to be who you are and celebrate God’s love for you!

We are not:

  • a place to judge others.

  • a place to fix others.

  • a place to engage in gossip.

  • a place to feel shame or have secrets.

  • a place to meet dating partners.

How do I participate?

We meet every Monday Evening at 7p at Whiting Christian Church. Remember, Celebrate Recovery is for anyone, so to get started all you need to do is just show up!

  • Large Group - Join us for a time of worship, testimonies and teachings on the twelve steps and recovery principles.

  • Small Groups - At the conclusion of our Large Group meeting, we will break up into gender specific small groups for more in-depth discussions. These groups will provide more in-depth sharing of similar struggles. Teachings from Large Group or devotional readings will be used to initiate sharing. Participants are encouraged to comment, read or just listen. You are welcome to come and not say anything.

Newcomers

If you are new to recovery or a visitor we want you to know that you will be coming to a place of love and grace. There is no obligation to share anything when you join us. Just come and find out about CR, ask questions and determine if it is a good fit for you.
